July 10, 2006 - Time Off

Hey everyone
Hope you all are having a great summer so far and enjoying the nice weather from wherever you are.

Just thought I would write a quick note and let you know the current status of the record. After 10 months of writing, demoing, collaborating, and stressing I have managed to gather a good selection of songs and am nearly ready to start the recording process.

As I prepared to start this next major phase of the album I began to reevaluate my priorities. With my Grandma approaching a major surgery and Mom half way through her chemo I thought it was necessary to take some time and come home to be with my family. I really felt my mom needed me. We all needed each other.

I know in an industry of this nature, taking time off and stepping out of the spotlight is never ideal but sometimes the toughest decisions are the right ones. At the end of the day, there is nothing as important as family.

This time off will also allow me to escape the Toronto rat race, let go of some of the stress, and rejuvenate my creative side.

Thankfully BMG has been understanding and I really appreciate their support in giving me the time off.

I thank all of you for your patience. It's so nice to be able to take the time that I need and know that I have such amazing fans behind me. I promise I will keep you updated.
